Fisher Price Learning Home Review
As your child gets older they will start to notice the music of the Fisher Price Learning Home more. Like all toys the same songs over and over can start to wear on you a little, but unlike most toys this has a volume knob, so you can turn it down. Your child will actually start to get some exercise when they are playing with the Fisher Price Learning Home, dancing to the music, bending down, crawling and standing up again. It is sturdy enough so when your child starts to pull themselves up it won't tip.
As your child gets older, they will get to know which buttons do what. They will learn that opening the door starts the music. At first some of the activities won't hold their interest at all, but as they grow they will master them, opening the mailbox for example. The clock, alphabet and shapes sorter will still be teaching them important skills for years to come. On top of that, the effects can be changed from 'musical' for the younger children, to 'educational' for those moving on to learning shapes and how to count.
Although it looks like a large toy, once the Fisher Price Learning Home is pushed against the wall it takes up a relatively small amount of space. When your children finish playing with it, there isn't the usual clean-up, as there aren't a million bits and pieces to be pulled out and thrown around.
The Fisher Price Learning Home can also be moved around from the playroom to the garden for a change of scenery and fresh air. As long as you can hear the doorbell ringing or the mailbox being opened and closed with a 'You've Got Mail!' you will know they are safe and happy.
The window opening and closing, light switch flicking on and off and the day/night wheel (complete with owl and rooster sounds) teaches opposites, and the clock teaches the time. The water spout counts aloud as your child drops in the balls.
Assembling the Fisher Price Learning Home takes some time, but a long, thin screwdriver makes it easy. It can however take up to 20 minutes to put in all the screws, so best to do this before the big day arrives.
If most toys in your house have a short lifespan, the Fisher Price Learning Home will keep your child entertained for years to come. If you are looking for a toy that is both educational and provides hours of fun, the Fisher Price Learning Home is for you.
